Some time ago, Gartner released a report on SAP value management services. An interesting finding is that none of the companies Gartner spoke with thought that SAP was doing this solely to benefit its customers. They realized that SAP has them in a sales cycle, but they still found the value management services to be helpful in getting more out of their existing SAP solution. You can read the report here.
